Principles 2 and 3 discuss how the brain is plastic, however, working memory is limited. This challenges my initial thought that some people’s brains are wired to understand certain topics and that there is little we can do to change that. Because the brain is plastic, there is space to challenge individuals to grow in their understanding, We do, however, have to be mindful that there is a limit on working memory and this impacts the techniques we use to teach, emphasizing the importance of breaking things up into small chunks and ensuring repetition.
